Montevideo consists of many completely different parts. You will pass through the luxurious residential areas of Carrasco, Punta Gorda and Pocitos. And also appreciate the parks, rose gardens and mansions of the wonderful Prado, built at the beginning of the 20th century according to the design of French and Italian architects. On the way back to the central part of the city, take a stroll along the picturesque beaches of Las Ramblas. The Essentials of Montevideo

  • The Panoramic Mirador: located almost 80 metres high, reveals one of the most complete and emblematic views of the capital. This place operated for the first time in 1979; where its restaurant and cafeteria were the scene of different social events.
  •  Rambla de Montevideo, Montevideo Uruguay.
  • The beaches of Montevideo are bordered by a boulevard of almost 30 kilometres that makes the coast one of the most outstanding attractions of the city. It is one of the main open spaces where Montevideans go every day to walk and play sports.
  • Plaza Virgilio: This open public space is a frequent meeting point for the residents of Malvinas and Punta Gorda.
  • Monumento a la Ley de Caídos en Servicio de la Marina’, hence its current name is ‘Plaza de la Armada’.
  • Barrio Carrasco Carrasco: It is a neighbourhood located about 15 kilometres southeast of the city centre. The neighbourhood has become Montevideo’s most luxurious residential area, home to the city’s upper class.
  • Parque Batlle: Named after the large green lung that is incorporated in the center of the area. It has a very peculiar architecture.
  • Ciudad Vieja:The Old City with colonial, baroque and classic buildings of great architectural and heritage value.
